About Amber Salas

Amber Salas is a junior at San Diego State University currently pursuing a degree in Journalism with a minor in Television, Film, and New Media (TFM). Her goal one day is to be a sideline reporter for a sports team or to be a news anchor for a television station. Amber discovered her passion for reporting in a television and film class at her high school, JSerra Catholic High School. Amber has become very involved at SDSU. Amber is a sports reporter for the school newspaper, The Daily Aztec. Some of her favorite sports she’s been able to cover are the SDSU hockey team and the SDSU women’s soccer team. Amber has also been a member of the SDSU cheer team since her freshman year. You can find her happily cheering on the sidelines of every football and basketball home game. She also is a member of the competition cheer team where she has competed at UCA College Nationals in Orlando, Florida 3 times. The San Diego State Coed team took home 5^th place for the second year in a row in the Small Coed D1 division. She is also a member of Kappa Delta Sorority where she has met some amazing friends. Amber’s favorite thing about Kappa Delta is the weekly sisterhood events and the formal dances. A fun fact is that Amber grew up in San Clemente, California which has given her a strong love for the beach. In her free time, you can find her hanging out at the beach with her friends or out in the water surfing.
